Respectful and Honorable Flag Retirement Program

The American Canyon Fire Protection District, in partnership with VFW Post 1123, is proud to offer a respectful and honorable flag retirement program for the community. This initiative ensures that American flags are properly retired in a dignified manner, honoring the symbol of our nation and those who have served under it.

Community members who have worn or damaged U.S. flags in need of retirement can bring them to one of the designated drop-off locations:

  • Station 11 – 911 Donaldson Way E, American Canyon, CA 94503
  • Station 211 – 225 James Rd, American Canyon, CA 94503

Flags can be dropped off Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding holidays). Our fire stations are staffed during these hours to receive flags and ensure they are handled with care.

Once collected, flags will be retired with the utmost respect in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code. The American Canyon Fire Protection District and VFW Post 1123 will oversee the retirement process.

This program reflects our commitment to honoring the American flag and those who have served our country. We extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans and service members for their dedication and sacrifice.

For more information on proper flag retirement, please contact the American Canyon Fire Protection District or VFW Post 1123. Thank you for helping us show respect to this important national symbol.
