Heart Safe Community

The American Canyon Fire Protection District is proud to partner with Napa County EMS in making our community a designated Heart Safe Community. This initiative is dedicated to improving cardiac arrest survival rates by enhancing public awareness, education, and access to life-saving resources.

What is a Heart Safe Community?

A Heart Safe Community is one that actively promotes cardiac health and emergency preparedness by ensuring widespread access to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), CPR training, and rapid emergency response. Through this partnership, we work to strengthen the community’s ability to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies quickly and effectively.

Key Elements of the Program

  • CPR & AED Training – Providing residents with the skills needed to respond in a cardiac emergency.
  • Strategic AED Placement – Increasing the availability of AEDs in public spaces.
  • Community Awareness Campaigns – Educating the public on heart health, recognizing cardiac arrest, and taking immediate action.
  • Strong EMS Response – Ensuring our first responders are equipped and trained to provide the highest level of cardiac care.

How You Can Get Involved

Residents and businesses can play a vital role in strengthening our Heart Safe Community. Here’s how you can help:

  • Learn CPR and how to use an AED.
  • Ensure your workplace or organization has an accessible AED.
  • Spread awareness about heart health and emergency response.

By working together, we can save lives and make American Canyon a safer place for all.

We believe that knowledge is power, and empowering our community with CPR and AED training can make a life-or-death difference.
