American Canyon Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The American Canyon Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a volunteer-based program designed to prepare residents for emergencies and disasters. CERT members receive specialized training in disaster response, including basic medical aid, fire suppression, search and rescue, and emergency preparedness.

How CERT Assists the Community:

  • Disaster Response Support – CERT volunteers assist first responders during emergencies, such as earthquakes, wildfires, and floods.
  • Emergency Preparedness Education – CERT educates the community on disaster preparedness, including evacuation planning and home safety.
  • Basic Medical Aid – Trained members provide first aid and assist in triage when professional responders are overwhelmed.
  • Search & Rescue – CERT helps locate and assist missing or injured individuals in disaster situations.
  • Fire Safety & Suppression – Members learn how to extinguish small fires and reduce fire hazards.
  • Community Event Support – CERT provides logistical assistance and safety support for local events.

By joining CERT, community members become valuable assets in enhancing public safety and resilience. For more information or to get involved, visit American Canyon CERT or contact the American Canyon Fire Protection District.
